I have lost respect for Finidi, says Osimhen

0

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has lashed out at coach Finidi George, stating that he has lost respect for him, over some comments on his attitude towards the national team.

Finidi, who is said to have also resigned as the head coach of the Super Eagles on Saturday, was quoted to have said he can’t beg Osimhen to play for the national team after the player withdrew from their last two 2026 World Cup qualifiers due to injury.

The striker was said to have been ruled out by a four-week injury and was replaced by Enugu Rangers defender, Kenneth Igboke.

But following the Super Eagles wobbling performances against South Africa and Benin Republic, the narrative of Osimhen’s absence changed as an online medium (not The According) reported that Finidi used Osimhen’s absence as a poser for the players’ bad attitude towards the national team when he and the Nigeria Football Federation chiefs met with the Sports Minister, John Enoh, in Abuja on Wednesday.

Osimhen was apparently infuriated by the comments and, in a live Instagram video on Saturday opened up on the circumstances that led to his withdrawal from the Super Eagles last two World Cup qualifiers, adding that Finidi was adequately briefed by him and his doctor.

“I knew things like these would happen and that’s why I have the videos and screenshots of when I called Finidi while I was with the doctor in Germany,” Osimhen said.

“I got injured in our (Napoli’s) last game against Lecce and I went to the MRI scan. And I called Finidi there for him to listen to the doctor too.

“I called him (Finidi) and asked him to allow me to come to the camp to be with the boys and I spoke to some of my teammates too but he said I have to be with my family.

“I’m not addressing anything, everybody knows I play my heart out whenever I’m playing for the club or national team. I’ll share the screenshot and videos of my conversation with Finidi for the sake of those believing what Finidi said.

“I’ve lost respect for that man because before I disrespect anybody, I always respect them,” the player added

In Finidi’s first game in charge of the Super Eagles, Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, last Friday and a 2-1 defeat against Benin Republic in Abidjan compounded the Super Eagles fate in Group C of the qualifying series, leaving them with just three points after four games.

The former Enyimba coach was said to have resigned from the national team as well, two days after the NFF said they were going to hire a foreign technical adviser.

Benin monarch faults LP candidate Akpata’s ‘son of the palace’ claim

0

The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, has publicly corrected Labour Party gubernatorial candidate Olumide Akpata for claiming to be a “son of the Palace”.

Akpata, during a recent meeting with the monarch repeatedly referred to himself as a “son of the Palace” in both English and the local dialect.

The Oba, however, swiftly dismissed his assertions, explaining that he had instructed one of his chiefs to verify Akpata’s claims.

He added that his investigation revealed that Akpata has no direct or distant links to the Palace.

“You are an industrious son of the soil but to say you are a child of the Palace…I am not aware that any of my children is contesting or is a politician.

“So I need to make that clarification for the sake of the public and the fourth estate of the realm,” the Oba clarified.

In response to the Oba’s correction, Akpata acknowledged the distinction, stating that while he might not be a child of the Palace, he is a child of the kingdom.

Following the incident, a member of Akpata’s entourage expressed disappointment with the public rebuke.

He said, “We are not really happy with the manner in which our candidate was rebuked by the Oba for claiming to be the son of the Palace.”

Render and Shiba Inu Down Double Digits, Will Raboo 10x In June?

0

Render (RNDR) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) have been experiencing a decline lately. Both tokens are currently down by two-digit percentages on the 7 day charts, and now investors are cautious about investing in them. However, investors can rely on this unique presale coin, called Raboo (RABT), for a profitable investment, as it keeps breaking presale records, such as raising a whopping $1.7 million from token sales alone.

Interestingly, analysts have also urged many investors to brace up for a potential 10x rally in $RABT this June. Let’s find out how likely this incredible surge in Raboo is, as well as what is making Render and Shiba Inu decline in their respective prices.

Render Struggles: Is the Party Over for GPU Rendering Tokens?

Render (RNDR) is an altcoin based on the Ethereum blockchain,  with a core functionality to streamline the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) usage, which is essential for creating high-quality content, including virtual reality environments, 3D models, and complex graphics designs.

Looking at the monthly charts, Render has experienced poor growth. Render witnessed a 28% dip, decreasing from  $11.46 to a current price of $8.35. As a result of this decline, many investors are now searching for alternatives that have strong potential to rally and can generate more profits than Render.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) Slumps 16% Despite Global Adoption

Shiba Inu is a decentralized and community-driven coin, gaining widespread adoption globally, especially as a major online payment option and has also attracted numerous crypto enthusiasts to its platform.

Although Shiba Inu  gained a significant number of users across the crypto industry,  SHIB still witnessed a strong downtrend over the past month, with the meme token falling by 16%.

As of writing, SHIB  currently trades for $0.0000216 based on data on CoinMarketCap, experts hint at a continued downtrend of the token, supposing there are no significant developments within Shiba Inu’s Ecosystem. .

Community-Driven Meme Coin Raboo Presale Heats Up: AI, 10x Potential & Early Investor Advantage

Out of numerous presales that began in 2024, Raboo (RABT) appears to outperform  them in terms of investor interest and bullish potential. With the aid of its AI-enhanced technology, the meme coin project keeps striving to establish a new era of memes. More interestingly, the presale token  boasts of potential to deliver 10x gains for investors this June, making it a compelling investment choice in the month.

Raboo is driven by a progressive minded and vibrant community,  who are consistently participating in the platform’s activities like submitting their self-made memes, providing feedback on existing memes, and even helping train Raboo’s AI algorithms to better identify and promote the most engaging and viral content. Raboo ensures that this community remains vibrant and engaged by promoting incentives like zero taxes, which means any community member can buy, sell, and transfer $RABT tokens without incurring any additional fees.

The journey of Raboo’s potential multi-fold surge began in Stage 1 of its presale, when it was priced at $0.003. However, the presale token now sells at $0.0048 in its presale Stage 4, marking a 60% increase. According to experts, Raboo, not only has the potential for a 10x surge by June but also the potential to skyrocket by 100 folds after launch.

Conclusion

While some investors may have been disappointed by Render  and Shiba Inu as prices of both RNDR and SHIB  took a nosedive, the new presale coin Raboo (RABT) is piquing investor interest. As a meme coin that can potentially surge 10x in value before month-end, Raboo remains one of the most compelling alternatives for investors looking to capitalize on the current generally bullish crypto market.

Cardano and Stellar Struggle to Keep Up as Investors Flock to New Altcoin

0

Well-known names in the altcoin space, Cardano and Stellar are having serious difficulties as investors shift more and more to a fresh and promising altcoin. The change in investor sentiment highlights how quickly and volatile the digital currency market is, where capital is driven by innovation and the possibility of large profits. Meanwhile, the new sensation that is capturing investors’ attention is Angry Pepe Fork. Let us find out why.

Angry Pepe Fork Tops The Altcoin List Of 50x Coins

Rising from internet culture with the appearance of a battle-ready token, Angry Pepe Fork (APORK) is more than just another altcoin; it is a symbol of defiance. The next 50x Solana-based coin to buy is Angry Pepe Fork, for those who missed the Pepe Coin rally. APORK is unique in that it offers a “Conquer To Earn” feature that rewards players for their bravery in a virtual war.

Angry Pepe Fork tops the altcoin list of 50x coins because of its special approach which gives the investment a gaming component. Promising altcoin Angry Pepe Fork uses the Solana blockchain to provide special features and dynamics driven by the community. Its conquer-to-earn mechanism rewards players who fight zombie meme coins together with free tokens and community recognition.

The token’s appeal and utility are further increased by the remarkable APY rewards that participants can receive starting with the presale. Being the original token of the Angry Pepe Fork ecosystem, APORK provides users with extra advantages and chances for interaction by playing important roles in transactions, governance, and staking.

The first stage of the presale for the APORK token is selling at $0.014 per token. With only 1.9 billion tokens available overall, APORK wants to keep the tokens scarce and ensure that the value keeps rising, maybe hitting $0.5 in the next few months. Offering a profitable APY, staking APORK tokens is a wise addition to users’ portfolios. You wouldn’t want to miss out on the ongoing Angry Pepe Fork presale.

Cardano Price Faces Struggles

At the moment, Cardano (ADA) is trading between $0.42 and $0.49 over the past week and the Cardano price has decreased by 4.16% over the last week. Meanwhile, $0.52 is the closest resistance level, and $0.39 is the closest support level. The RSI and MACD indicate low momentum, pointing to corrective moves rather than impulsive growth, even though the 10-day simple moving average is in close alignment with the current Cardano price.

However, an analyst who goes by the handle Trend Rider has adopted a positive outlook for the Cardano coin. They have discovered a technical pattern that points to a possible trend reversal for the Cardano coin. Trend Rider thinks $0.50 is a crucial breakthrough price. Overcoming this barrier might indicate a dramatic change in direction and possibly start a fresh uptrend for Cardano. Additionally, they have located a buying zone ranging from $0.36 to $0.40.

Stellar Market Cap Increases

The Stellar market cap recently saw a moderate increase of 3.5% which took it to $2.9 billion. Meanwhile, Stellar attempts to connect specific clients based on the core idea of the company. It started in 2014 and the Stellar coin (XLM) is the native currency. Managing billions of transactions and forming important partnerships with MoneyGram, Circle, and Franklin Templeton, Stellar has grown dramatically over a long period.

Currently trading at $0.1, the Stellar coin is almost 88% below its 2018 ATH price of $0.8756 and 22,219.7% above the ATL level of $0.0004761 since March 2015. Meanwhile, Stellar is in 37th place and its current market capitalization still shows a 21% increase from the previous year.

Summary

As Cardano and Stellar struggle to keep up their momentum, Angry Pepe Fork (APORK) shows itself to be a viable competitor. Moreover, APORK is drawing in investors seeking large returns with its novel “Conquer To Earn” mechanism and robust community involvement. Investors need to be aware of new chances and developing trends as the altcoin market changes. Offering interaction as well as earnings, APORK is a noteworthy addition to the altcoin market.

Police reacts to Sen Sani’s claim on EndSARS protesters still in detention

0

The Nigerian Police Force has denied comments by a former senator, Shehu Sani that some young Nigerians who were arrested during the EndSARS protest of 2020 were still in detention.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun in a statement issued on his behalf on Sunday by Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi asserted that there are “no EndSARS protesters still in detention”.
Sen Sani had while speaking at the 2024 Democracy Day Dinner on June 12, 2024, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure the release of the detained young people.
In his reaction, Adejobi said “the Nigeria Police Force categorically denies the recent allegations made by Senator Shehu Sani at the 2024 Democracy Day Dinner on June 12, 2024, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where the former Senator falsely claimed that some young people have been detained since the 2020 EndSARS protest.
“The Nigeria Police affirms that no individual is being unlawfully detained by the Nigeria Police Force or any other security agency in Nigeria due to the EndSARS protest. All arrested individuals have been processed according to the law, and none remain unlawfully detained. In Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu pardoned approximately 100 suspects arrested by the Police during the protest.
“For emphasis, no one anywhere in Nigeria is under Police detention or being wrongly persecuted for participating in the EndSARS protest. The issues surrounding the protest have been debated, researched, and documented, and lessons have been learnt. We have forgiven ourselves and moved on.
“We encourage verifying information before making public statements to avoid harm and incitement”.

BREAKING: Tinubu inherited dead economy – Presidency replies New York Times

0

The Presidency has reacted to a report published in the New York Times criticising the Nigerian economy as facing the worst trajectory in a generation.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday reacted to the report credited to Ruth Maclean and Ismail Auwal’s.
According to the Presidency, the feature story with the title, ‘Nigeria Confronts Its Worst Economic Crisis in a Generation’, published on June 11, reflected the typical predetermined, reductionist, derogatory and denigrating way foreign media establishments reported African countries for several decades.
The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy said because of the ‘misleading’ slant of the report, the government needed to clear up some misconceptions conveyed by the reporters as regards the economic policies of the President Bola Tinubu administration that came into power at the end of May 2023.
He said one significant aspect of the report was that it painted the dire experiences of some Nigerians amid the inflationary spiral of the last year and blamed it all on the policies of the new administration.
He also said the report, based on several interviews, is at best jaundiced, all gloom and doom, as it never mentioned the positive aspects in the same economy as well as the ameliorative policies being implemented by the central and state governments.
Onanuga went on to say that Tinubu did not create the economic problems Nigeria faces today.
According to the presidential aide, Tinubu inherited them.
“As a respected economist in our country once put it, Tinubu inherited a dead economy. The economy was bleeding and needed quick surgery to avoid being plunged into the abyss, as happened in Zimbabwe and Venezuela,” he noted.
Onanuga said this was the background to the policy direction taken by the government in May/June 2023: the abrogation of the fuel subsidy regime and the unification of the multiple exchange rates.
According to the presidential aide, for decades, Nigeria had maintained a fuel subsidy regime that gulped $84.39 billion between 2005 and 2022 from the public treasury in a country with huge infrastructural deficits and in high need of better social services for its citizens.
Onanuga also alleged that the state oil firm, NNPCL, the sole importer, had amassed trillions of Naira in debts for absorbing the unsustainable subsidy payments in its books.
He said by the time Tinubu took over the leadership of the country, there was no provision made for fuel subsidy payments in the national budget beyond June 2023.
“The budget itself had a striking feature: it planned to spend 97 percent of revenue servicing debt, with little left for recurrent or capital expenditure. The previous government had resorted to massive borrowing to cover such costs. Like oil, the exchange rate was also being subsidized by the government, with an estimated $1.5 billion spent monthly by the CBN to ‘defend’ the currency against the unquenchable demand for the dollar by the country’s import-dependent economy.
“By keeping the rate low, arbitrage grew as a gulf existed between the official rate and the rate being used by over 5000 BDCs that were previously licensed by the Central Bank. What was more, the country was failing to fulfil its remittance obligations to airlines and other foreign businesses, such that FDIs and investment in the oil sector dried up, and notably Emirate Airlines cut off the Nigerian route,” he said.
Onanuga said to deal with the cancer of public finance, Tinubu on his first day rolled back the subsidy regime and the generosity that spread to neighbouring countries. Then, his administration floated the naira.
He said, “After some months of the storm, with the naira sliding as low as N1,900 to the US dollar, some stability is being restored, though there remain some challenges. The exchange rate is now below N1500 to the dollar, and there are prospects that the naira could regain its muscle and appreciate to between N1000 and N1200 before the end of the year.
“The economy recorded a trade surplus of N6.52 trillion in Q1, as against a deficit of N1.4 trillion in Q4 of 2023. Portfolio investors have streamed in as long-term investors. When Diageo wanted to sell its stake in Guinness Nigeria, it had the Singaporean conglomerate, Tolaram, ready for the uptake. With the World Bank extending a $2.25 billion loan and other loans by the AfDB and Afreximbank coming in, Nigeria has become bankable again. This is all because the reforms being implemented have restored some confidence.
“The inflationary rate is slowing down, as shown in the figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics for April. Food inflation remains the biggest challenge, and the government is working very hard to rein it in with increased agricultural production.
“The Tinubu administration and the 36 states are working assiduously to produce food in abundance to reduce the cost. Some state governments, such as Lagos and Akwa Ibom, have set up retail shops to sell raw food items to residents at a lower price than the market price.
“The Tinubu government, in November last year, in consonance with its food emergency declaration, invested heavily in dry-season farming, giving farmers incentives to produce wheat, maize, and rice. The CBN has donated N100 billion worth of fertiliser to farmers, and numerous incentives are being implemented. In the western part of Nigeria, the six governors have announced plans to invest massively in agriculture.
“With all the plans being executed, inflation, especially food inflation, will soon be tamed.
“Nigeria is not the only country in the world facing a rising cost of living crisis. The USA, too, is contending with a similar crisis, with families finding it hard to make ends meet. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen raised this concern recently. Europe is similarly in the throes of a cost-of-living crisis. As those countries are trying to confront the problem, the Tinubu administration is also working hard to overturn the economic problems in Nigeria.
“Our country faced economic difficulties in the past, an experience that has been captured in folk songs. Just like we overcame then, we shall overcome our present difficulties very soon.”

Emir Sanusi leads Sallah Durbar in Kano

Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Sunday led the traditional Sallah durbar, a celebration that followed the Eid prayer and sermon at Kofar Mata Jumu’at mosque.

In a departure from past traditions, the Emir was the sole horseback rider, while district heads walked or rode in vehicles.

The event was attended by Governor Abba Yusuf and other cabinet members, with a heavy security presence from the Army, police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other agencies.
