Solomon Maren, a member of the House of Representatives, claims that terrorists have been responsible for the deaths of over one hundred people in the state of Plateau in the past two days.
During a press conference held on Wednesday at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, Mr. Maren, who is the representative for the Mangu/Bokkos federal constituency in the North-central state, stated the aforementioned information.
He claimed that the killings took place in his district during attacks that were carried out at various times on villages in the region.
According to the lawmaker, the assailants also set fire to homes, farms, and storage facilities for agricultural inputs. He also mentioned that the latest attacks brought the total number of fatalities in the last four months to 200.

Mr. Maren voiced his displeasure with the efforts made by the federal government to ensure the safety of the people in the state. He claimed that the military had not been provided with adequate equipment to fight the terrorists.
“I believe it is necessary for me to inform the world at this time about the unfortunate events that have taken place in my constituency, which is the Mangu/Bokkos federal constituency of Plateau state. Over the course of the past two days, terrorists have carried out an overnight attack without provocation, during which they have murdered and butchered in cold blood more than one hundred people, the majority of whom were women and children. In addition, their homes have been burned down, along with their food supplies, food barns, and seedlings.
“These killings are one of many that have taken place in the constituency, which has seen over 200 people murdered in the preceding four months before this one.”
“The government may claim that it is doing its best, but its best is not good enough, as evidenced by the fact that it has not been able to put an end to the killings in years. However, I would like to commend the few brave officers who were working without adequate arms but still gave themselves up to save lives,” he said.
Mr. Maken also criticized President Muhammadu Buhari for not expressing his disapproval of the heinous acts that were carried out by the terrorists.
Mr. Maren pleaded with the relevant government agencies to supply the affected population with relief supplies in order to give the victims some measure of relief.

“While I strongly encourage support from all corners, I strongly denounce the attack in its entirety and call for calm, urging no one to take the law into their own hands.”
“I commiserate with the government and people of plateau state, the Miskhakam Mwagavul, the Governor-Elect of Plateau State, and indeed the Chairman of Mangu LGA on the attack, and I pray for the repose of the souls of those who were killed,” he said. “I pray for the repose of the souls of those who were killed.”
After serving as president for eight years, Mr. Buhari, who ran for office in 2015 on a platform of reducing insecurity, is about to step down from his position. On the other hand, the precarious state of things with regard to security has not improved under his watch.
