According to Rev. Fr. Linus Matthew Bobai, the parish priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kadarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, robbers broke into their community and abducted the catechist and his expectant wife along with thirty other people.
This was revealed by Bobai on Wednesday during an interview with Arise Television.
He emphasizes that many residents have fled for their life and that the neighborhood is under stress.
“Sincerely, following the attack, a few soldiers from the nearby village went around and eventually we saw them returning, and that’s all.”
“We have a disability. There is tension in the neighborhood; more than 98% of people have left for a nearby settlement. Those of us who slept in the village yesterday are not quite forty years old.
“A lot of them left this evening due to fear and other factors. We are really tense. Because we are pastors, some of us are terrified, but we are unable to flee. We urged a few others to remain and care for the community,” the priest stated.
