In all of his dealings, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo hailed late Captain Joseph Din as a guy who stood for justice, fairness, and equity.

The vice-president stated this at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, during Din’s funeral service.

Osinbajo recalled his warm memories of the late Captain, who he described as a very disciplined man who opposed and fought injustice in any form to the point where, despite not being a lawyer by training, he got versed with legal vocabulary.

This action, he claims, strengthened his conviction in democracy and the rule of law, which encouraged people to use civil channels to resolve issues rather than taking the law into their own hands.

He also described the deceased as hardworking, industrious, and giving, saying that he created bridges across the country and maintained lengthy friendships with people he had known for many years, including President Muhammadu Buhari.

Governor Simon Lalong praised the late elderstatesman as a man of integrity who toiled for Plateau State’s and Nigeria’s peace and political stability in his remarks.

He said Din accomplished a lot as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Committee in Plateau State to assure the party’s win and oversee its performance in different domains, and that he will miss the important counsel and wisdom he freely shared.

COCIN’s President-elect, Rev Amos Mohzho, stated that death is dreadful news, but it can also be wonderful news for people who live a moral life and are certain of salvation.

According to him, the dead lived a prosperous and virtuous life, serving God and blessing others with his money and talents.

Mrs. Christiana Din, the deceased’s widow, said the death of her husband, with whom she had been married for 54 years, was very difficult, but that the testimony of his service to God and humanity had strengthened her.
