His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has forged a deal with a renowned financial institution, Stanbic IBTC Bank, to give the Itsekiri people with over 10,000 point-of-sale (POS) devices.
This is in an effort to promote women’s and youth’s livelihoods and opportunities in the state.
Ogiame Atuwatse III, who took the throne in August 2021, cited the expansion and prosperity of the people and kingdom of Warri, as well as Delta State as a whole, as his primary objective, among other things.

“On behalf of the magnificent people of Warri Kingdom, we are glad to open the gates of business and investment to Stanbic IBTC Bank at this noble level,” His Royal Majesty remarked.
“In a digitalized era where the highly illustrious people of this kingdom transact in large sums, the provision of these POS machines linked to a pension scheme will go a long way in bringing convenience and security to both customers and service providers while also ensuring future financial security.”
“The machines will also provide its recipients with a good means of livelihood that they can engage in as they advance and expand into other endeavors,” says the author.
Beneficiaries who spoke at the onboarding event expressed their delight that the Olu is already having a good impact on their lives less than six months after ascending to the throne.
According to them, he is the light of hope that Deltans have been praying for, as well as a breath of fresh air that the Iwere people require.
