The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, was greeted by the Obidients Movement on Monday at The People’s House in Makurdi’s New Banquet Hall.

The Governor expressed his sincere gratitude for the trip and said he felt fulfilled for having fought for a just cause in the effort to create a new Nigeria where equity, fairness, and justice would be assured for all inhabitants.

He expressed confidence that the fight for a better Nigeria is ongoing and said he has no regrets about the temporary turn in his personal political fortunes, which he described as temporary. He also thanked the Obidients for supporting the PDP in order to win the governorship and state assembly elections on March 18, 2023.

The success of the Anti Open Grazing Law, which to date has seen 26 states follow in the path set by Benue under his administration, was cited by Governor Ortom as evidence that he had not only won the war for a free Nigeria but also expressed joy at not having lost the election.

In order to vote on March 18 in favor of the Engr. Titus Tyoapine Uba/Sir John Ngbede ticket, he urged the crowd to stand.

The governor also praised Uba, calling him a courageous guy who did a commendable job of leading the 8th Benue State Assembly and tirelessly working for the passage of the Anti Open Grazing Bill, which he has promised to uphold if elected governor.

In his remarks, Uba thanked the Obidients for their demonstration of support for Governor Ortom and the PDP family in Benue in order to ensure that he wins on Saturday, March 18. At the same time, he emphasized that because he had supported the governor throughout his entire administration, he had the necessary level of experience to succeed him and carry on his good work.

Previously, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nweze, the head of the Obidients in Benue, declared that their goal was to honor Governor Ortom, whom he characterized as a great Nigerian who freely stood up for a noble principle and paid the price of giving up his aspiration to become a senator.

It is a good idea to have a backup plan in case the backup plan fails.

At the Saturday, March 18, 2023 polls, Dr. Nweze claimed that Sir John Ngbede and Engineer Titus Tyoapine Uba would have the support of all Obedients in Benue State.

The doctor was enthusiastic that Engr. Uba would move into The People’s House in Makurdi as a result of the alliance between the Obidients and PDP, where he would continue his valiant work of defending and expanding Benue State.
