Governor Willie Obiano met with President Muhammadu Buhari in a closed-door meeting at Aso Rock on Wednesday, two weeks before his term ends.
The meeting has set social media users’ tongues wagging as they try to figure out why it happened.
Some social media users speculated that it could be linked to the governor’s inclusion on an anti-corruption watchlist.

Obiano had previously stated that after his term as governor, he would travel to the United States to rest.
Obiano lived in the United States after retiring as a Chartered accountant from Texaco before being recalled to Nigeria to serve as governor.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) put Obiano on its watchlist last year, alleging that he owed the government answers and might try to flee the country.
Obiano was out of the country at the time of the declaration, and there were rumors that he might never return, but he returned and called the bluff of those who were making accusations about his attempt to flee.

Obiano told reporters that he had no questions to answer and, more importantly, no reason to leave the country.
Those who tried to intimidate him were reminded that he was still the governor and that his immunity had not been revoked.
