Nigerian businessman and socialite Obinna Oyiegbu, often known as Obi Cubana, has responded to the assertion that his adopted first son, Chidi, is his next of kin.
Chidi made waves on TikTok when she posted a video in which she claimed to be the billionaire’s next of kin.
He wrote, “Nothing do my shoulder, I just realize say I be next of kin,” as the caption for the video.
Obi Cubana posted a picture of himself with his biological kid Alex on Instagram with the message, “Ancient and modern, eyes on the ball. @dtwalx aka next of kin,” as if in response.
Alex said, “I’m using my headphones right now,” in the comments area. Obi Cubana responded, “That’s right, original next-of-kin.”
Many people criticized Obi Cubana for not resolving the matter internally after his article sparked uproar.
“Unnecessary,” one X user @Abazwhyllzz commented. Instead of coming to post a hash, he ought to have instructed the man to remove the content from TikTok and then resolved the issue internally.
“I am a poor man, so I keep to myself.”
Another user, @Soyecatherings, said, “I don’t think he thought of the consequences in the long run.” Sha, this wasn’t the best way to handle it. However, even considering being the next of kin currently only implies that Obi must be deceased or elderly enough to be incapable of managing affairs.
“A child was just doing a harmless video, una don reason plenty of things put, na wah for una ooo,” remarked a third user, @Gladys_Onyetem.
Even when Una mentioned an adopted child, I assumed it was his brother’s child.
In this simple video, a don projects a terrible familial negativity.
You find the people in the village, don’t you?
Another user, @DemoOfUK, said, “Nawa o. Make you come chop, they say; you have a long spoon. Specify the reason why you want to claim Omo Onile for someone else’s land.
Ukraine warns: We will just negotiate, not give up.
