Aminat Yusuf, who graduated from Lagos State University (LASU) with a 5.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) and was named the top legal student, would get funding for her legal study from the Edo State Government, according to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.
The governor reported that Head of Service Anthony Okungbowa had given additional prizes to the outstanding student.
The government of Edo State honoured our daughter, Aminat Yusuf, for her academic achievements at LASU, where she graduated with a perfect CGPA of 5.00. This is an update on her, he continued.
“The government automatically gave her a job after this success, and the governor has now approved other things for her beyond the job.”The governor has ordered that Aminat Yusuf will receive a scholarship to attend the Nigerian Law School for one year, and that the government will be in charge of meeting all of her needs up until the end of the programme.
“The governor also approved that she will receive an up-keep allowance equal to the pay of a State Counsel, which is about N200,000 naira, for each month that she will be attending law school,” he continued.
“This is in honour of the accomplishment she made at LASU. We are pleased with her accomplishment and hope she will work with us after completing her legal degree. We will write to NYSC to request that she begin her one-year State-mandated compulsory youth service.
