NPFL: Kano Pillars Down Rivers United 2-0, Finidi George Responds

Finidi George, the technical adviser for Rivers United, admitted that Kano Pillars had earned their win in the Matchday 35 match.
The Pride of Rivers lost to Kano Pillars 2-0 on Friday at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, according to reports. Ahmed Musa and Rabiu Ali scored the goals.
Finidi stated that for the rest of the season, his team will focus on earning as many points as possible in their next home games.
“Kano Pillars deserved to win if we look at the overall performance with the chances created,” Finidi said in an interview conducted after the game.

“We must return and see how we can win our home games, which I am 100% sure we can do.”

Rivers United, with 58 points, is still in second place in the league standings.

In the meantime, Kano Pillars’ thrilling 2-0 victory over Rivers United on April 25 puts Remo Stars one victory away from winning their first Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) championship.

Kano Pillars played well throughout the NPFL game at Sani Abacha Stadium, forcing a goal from Ahmed Musa in the 64th minute to break the tie.

Rabiu Ali’s penalty kick in the 76th minute guaranteed the victory, which was a major triumph for Pillars. After 35 games and this defeat, Rivers United is now at 58 points.
