In a development that has perplexed the family of Dr. Michael Okpara, the former Premier of the Eastern Region, the family’s first son, Nnawuihe Okpara, reportedly died a few days before his mother’s burial.
Nnawuihe, an Aeronautic Engineer based in Houston, Texas, United States of America, was said to have died after a brief illness in the country where he had lived for many years.

His death, which was announced on Wednesday, comes as the countdown to his mother Adanma’s burial, which is set for Saturday, December 18.
Lady Adanma, who died in August at the age of 99, will be buried on Saturday in their country home, Umuegwu Okpuala in Ohuhu Clan, Umuahia North LGA of Abia State.
Before his death, the now-deceased Nnawuihe was said to be coordinating the burial arrangements as the family’s first son.
Before his death, he was a Heat Conversion expert who had worked with a number of airlines in the United States.

The late Nnawuihe served in the Biafran Army as an air officer before moving to the United States in 1972.
He was married with three children and was born in 1948.
