Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese, Deputy Spokesman of the 10th House of Representatives, has marked Nigeria’s 26th Democracy Day with a message of commemoration and renewed commitment to service.
In a statement released today, Agbese, who also bears the traditional title Okanga 1 K’Agila, hailed the milestone of “26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance” as a significant achievement in the nation’s history. He paid tribute to the “struggles and sacrifices made by our forebears who fought tirelessly for our freedom.”
Addressing constituents and Nigerians, Agbese, humbly known as the “Enone Servant,” reaffirmed his dedication to building a brighter future. “My vision is still the same,” he stated, outlining a focus on “empowering our communities through effective representation, legislation, and grassroots engagement.”
The lawmaker highlighted collaborative efforts already undertaken, championing projects in key sectors: “education, healthcare, sports, economic growth, and social welfare.” However, he acknowledged the journey is far from complete, stating, “There’s still a lot more to be done.”
Using the occasion to reinforce his commitment, Agbese declared: “Hence, on this Democracy Day, I renew my pledge to continue serving our people with dedication and integrity. So help me God!”
Agbese’s message strikes a reflective yet forward-looking tone, common among politicians on Democracy Day, emphasizing the value of sustained democratic rule while pledging continued efforts to address national challenges through legislative and representative action.
