The President’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Dele Alake, issued a statement on Tuesday that read, “It is most unfortunate that in this orgy of violence, an innocent eight-month-old baby in Farin Lamba community of Vwang District, Jos South Local Government, died in a conflict she knew nothing about.”
In a statement headlined “Plateau killings: We must break this cycle of violence,” the President expressed sadness and anguish over the occurrence and condemned the deaths in Mangu and many locations in Benue State.
A major result of ongoing conflict is always the unfortunate loss of innocent life, according to the President who called the festering retaliation strikes “necessary” and “avoidable.”
The statement said that, “while reiterating his government’s strong determination to wipe out violent crimes and all sorts of criminalities everywhere in Nigeria, the President has urged security services to fish out the masterminds of the despicable deeds to face the full force of law.”
