In Oyo State, close to Ibadan Airport, an airplane carrying Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu made a crash landing.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday night.
The article stated that it was unable to confirm whether the incident caused any injuries to the minister or other passengers.
The plane had left Abuja, according to the report.
Additionally, it was reported that at 18:56, the hired aircraft, Flint Short Aero, an HS 125 with registration number 5N-AMM, made initial contact with the control tower and requested an extension, which was granted by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
But the plane drifted into a rough ditch near the runway and landed approximately 50 meters short of the threshold.
The event transpired subsequent to the issuance of a travel advisory by the Nigerian Metrological Agency (NiMET) due to unclear skies.
As the dry season draws near, pilots and airline operators have been cautioned by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to be mindful of potentially dangerous meteorological conditions.
Regarding the occurrence, no formal comment has yet been released by the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
