Members of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) Board of Trustees have been reappointed for one final three-year term with the president’s approval.
According to the NPTF (Establishment) Act of 2019, the renewed appointment will begin on May 19, according to a statement made by the Ministry of Police Affairs on Friday in Abuja.
It further stated that the reappointment was a result of the board’s outstanding performance, which was demonstrated by Nigeria’s improvement in internal security and policing.
The board’s members were initially appointed in May 2020 for a three-year term.
Suleiman Abba, the chairman, Abdullahi Bala, the executive secretary, and a representative from the departments of police affairs, justice, finances, budget, and national planning make up the group.
According to NAN, other representatives include Mansur Ahmed, who represents the organised private sector; Michael Adebiyi, who represents civil society organisations; and the Inspector-General of Police, who represents the Nigerian Police Force.
