General Lucky Irabor, the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, has urged the Nigerian Navy’s 21 newly promoted and decorated Senior Officers who have distinguished themselves in the line of duty to see their new positions as a call to greater dedication to their duties.
In Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, General Irabor gave the advice during the Shipping of Stripes for Newly Promoted Rear Admirals.

“This year’s promotion is unique because of the rigorous process that preceded it, indicating that they are the best of the Navy,” he said.
According to him, the year 2021 will be challenging, but they are confident that the officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly the Navy, will be able to meet the challenges.
He claimed that the promotion would motivate them to perform better in the face of the country’s daunting security challenges.
General Irabor was optimistic that the defense authority’s arrangements would result in long-term solutions to the country’s security problems.
He urged the newly promoted officers to ensure that the maritime domain was safe and secure, as they have been entrusted with the task.

Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, the Nigerian Chief of Naval Staff, stated that “it is the dream of every officer to reach the pinnacle of his or her career in the Service,” but that “only a few eventually realize the dream.”
“The crowning glory of your hard work, total dedication, and loyalty to the Service, and by extension to the nation,” the ceremony was dubbed.
Vice Admiral Gambo congratulates them all on making it to this point in their careers, saying that while it takes a lot of hard work to get to this level, it takes even more effort to stay there.
He congratulated them all without reservation and urged them to live up to the trust placed in them by a proud and deserving nation.
“Notably, the Year 2021 has witnessed significant disruption in all facets of national life, with the armed forces now required to play more significant roles than ever before to ensure the security and prosperity of our dear nation,” Vice Admiral Gambo said.
“As a result, the Nigerian Navy and the nation expect you to be more dedicated and show unwavering loyalty to the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, in order to address the nation’s numerous security challenges.”

Rear Admiral Chibuike Azike, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted Senior Officers, expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon them and pledged to do their best in the service of the nation.
The spouses of the decorated officers, who were congratulated by the Naval Chief for being the pillars of support that enabled the officers to come this far, were among those in attendance.
