Following the arrest of a Warri kinsman for allegedly importing 414.2 kg of cannabis sativa, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) efforts to stop illegal drug transactions have gained more momentum.
It is estimated that the material has a street value of more than N200 million.
According to information our correspondent obtained, the suspect, identified as Emami Ajetsibogho, was taken into custody by police officers affiliated with the Lagos State Command.
On June 25, 2025, Ajetsibogho, who was reportedly the direct younger brother of a prominent Itsekiri leader, was arrested in Lagos. The drug was found hidden in multiple bags and sealed in satchets of black and white nylon.

Due to his alleged evasion of numerous arrest attempts, the suspect, who was born in Warri South, Delta State, is considered to be extremely powerful.
According to information our correspondent has reliably obtained, an APC guber candidate and former deputy governor made desperate attempts to undermine NDLEA authorities in an attempt to cover up the incident and clear the suspect, but his attempts were unsuccessful.
Upon being called, Mallum Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), stated that he was not in Lagos and did not confirm or deny the claim.
A civil society organization operating under the name Concerned Citizens for Justice and Accountability has urged all well-meaning Nigerians, Delta residents, and security services to take a serious interest in the issue and insist on a prompt, open inquiry.
According to a statement released by Casey Wealth, the president of the group based in Warri Delta State, the public should be informed about the situation, and the culture of impunity needs to stop immediately.
“All well-meaning Nigerians, Delta residents, and security services are urged to take a serious interest in this issue and insist on a prompt, open trial. The public is entitled to the truth. The impunity culture must be eradicated.
“How long will we remain silent while drug lords masquerading as politicians ruin our youth and transform our neighborhoods into chaotic theaters? Consider this a call to action. The statement continues, “Nigeria is not for sale, and Delta State is not a playground for anarchy sponsored by drugs.”
