It disclosed this in a statement by the Director, Media and Corporate Communications of the Agency, Dr Felix Ale on Tuesday.
The partnership is expected to enhance Nigeria’s national economy, security, and satellite technology development, and is seen as a significant step towards achieving the country’s goals in the aerospace industry.
The satellites, which include three optical satellites and one Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite, will be relevant for precision agriculture, monitoring, and data collection, and will play vital roles in sectors such as defence, maritime, oil and gas, and many others.
According to the Director General of NASRDA, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, “The private sector plays a crucial role in driving innovation and growth, and we are committed to providing the necessary technical expertise for this collaboration.”
Adepoju commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing a Minister of the Federal Ministry of Innovation Science and Technology, who is a strong advocate for private sector-led initiatives. “This partnership is a testament to the President’s commitment to leveraging technology for national development,” he said.
The Group Managing Director of Proforce Galaxies Limited, Engr. Ade Ogundeyin said, “NASRDA has the capacity and capability to be at the centre of the global aerospace industry, and the launch of these satellites will ensure this.”
He emphasised the importance of technology transfer for national development, saying “This strategic partnership will be highly rewarding not only to the parties involved but the entire nation, as the outstanding results will be among the great achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Adepoju assured Proforce of NASRDA’s support and readiness towards the success of the collaboration, saying “We appreciate the remarkable achievements of Proforce, particularly its high level of productivity since the partnership began two years ago.”
