Ministry asks staff to pay attention to mental health

In order to remain effective employees and valuable members of their families and the larger community, the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment has asked its staff to take attention to their mental health.

According to a statement released on Sunday, Dr. Biodun Onayele, the ministry’s permanent secretary, gave the instruction during a two-day training session organised for all staff members and held at the STO Resource Centre in Alausa, Ikeja, over the weekend.

This programme, according to Onayele, “is not just another activity on our calendar; it is a call to action; it is a chance for us to come together as a team, to share our experiences, to learn from experts in the field, and to equip ourselves with tools that will help us navigate the challenging environment of mental well-being.”

He advised the attendees of the seminar to make sure that the program’s activism on behalf of mental health awareness didn’t end there.

It need to be viewed as a catalyst for ongoing initiatives to prioritise and enhance psychological health at work.

Onayele declared, “We shall invest in cultivating the health of our brains and emotions, just as we shall spend in professional development.

=Mrs. Aderonke Bello, the ministry’s director of administration and human resources, claimed that the training was organised to further alert the employees to the necessity of paying attention to concerns of mental health and well-being in light of recent events.
