Military, police plan joint operation against Katsina terrorists

Anytime this week, security personnel in Katsina State will begin coordinated operations against local terrorists.

The exercise will involve personnel from the police, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Airforce, and the Department of State Security Service, among other agencies.

Additionally, it was discovered that the exercise may involve registered vigilante members.

ASP Aliyu Abubakar, the Katsina police command’s spokesman, confirmed the development.

According to other reliable sources, security personnel have identified all the terrorists’ operating bases, particularly their routes during the rainy season, and are prepared to crack down on them “anytime from now.”

Further information revealed that terrorist attacks had increased recently in Katsina State, particularly in areas where the state shared borders with Zamfara and Kaduna states.

A resident of the state’s Danmusa Local Government Area in the village of Dan Ali named Rabilu Tukur was killed by terrorists on Sunday, according to the resident.

The resident, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed that the victim, a member of the Danmusa LGA staff, had just dropped off a person he had given a ride to in Tashar Biri village when the terrorists attacked and killed him as he was heading home.

In the words of the local, “He used his motorbike for commercial purposes and had conveyed a passenger to Tashar Biri village. He was on his way back when the killers followed him and close to Dan Ali village, they attacked him using a cutlass to hack him to death in broad daylight.”

The incident was also confirmed by the police spokesman.

The local also revealed that terrorists had tracked some residents who had moved to Dan Ali village with their domestic animals in order to be safe, and that the terrorists had later rustled all the animals.

Last Friday, it was reported that terrorists attacked Maidabino village in the same council area. There, they allegedly carried out a house-to-house raid, killed one person, abducted his wife, and rustled his animals.
