In a car accident in the state of Anambra, a truck driver was killed and four other people were hurt.
The truck and a Honda CRV carrying five people were involved in an accident on Sunday that happened at Nteje in the Oyi local government area on the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.
According to information obtained, the truck driving in the opposite direction rammed into the Honda driver, who was killed, as he was about to cross the intersection.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) sector commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi, confirmed the incident and blamed speed and loss of control for the collision.

Along the Onitsha-Nteje-Awka Expressway, he said, “A fatal road traffic crash was recorded on April 16, 2023, before Ukpo junction.”The collision involved two cars: a private Honda CRV with the licence plate LFA 224 TN and a commercial Howo truck (10 tyres) with the registration number JUX 95 XA.
“Speed and the truck driver’s loss of control were the likely causes of the fatal traffic crash,” said the report.
Five people—four male adults and one male adult—were hurt in the collision, and the adult male who was driving the CRV was the only one who died. There were five people total who were involved.
The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka, received the crash victims after being rushed there.
