Katsina Police neutralize bandits, free kidnapped victim

On Wednesday, the Katsina Police Command reported that its agents had neutralized two bandits and freed a captive.

Additionally, the operatives chased away several bandits from two communities.

The command received a distress call on February 12, 2023, at around 04:45 hours, stating that terrorists in their numbers had attacked Kitibawa village in the Dutsinma Local Government Area and kidnapped one Alhaji Ado Rumawa. SP Gambo Isah, the command’s public relations officer, confirmed this in a statement.

He claimed that the Dutsinma Area Commander sent a police patrol team there right away and they engaged the terrorists in a gunfight, repelling them after one of them was killed.
He claimed that while many of the terrorists fled with gunshot wounds, one kidnapped victim was rescued unharmed.

He said that in order to apprehend the remaining wounded bandits, officers and men are searching the area.

On the same date at approximately 01:35 hours, a distress call was received reporting that some terrorists, numbering about 20, were blocking Danja-Bakori road and robbing innocent passengers along Unguwan Balarabe junction. “Another terrorist was neutralized along Danja-Bakori road, ”

“The hoodlums were engaged in a gun duel by the DPO Danja Division who had led a police patrol team to the area.”
