Yakubu Abdullahi Shehu, a member of the House of Representatives, is now wanted by the Bauchi State Police Command on suspicion of murder.
The federal representative for the Bauchi constituency was also the target of an N1 million bounty set by the security agency.
Shehu was chosen on the Peoples Redemption Party (PDP) ticket but then switched to the APC (APC).
Tuesday saw the release of a Special Police Gazette Bulletin CB: 2685/Bsx/VOL.T/4s from Police Public Relations Officer SP Ahmed Wakil.

According to the bulletin, Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, is in charge of the Nigeria Police Force, which is looking for Shehu.
The politician is sought after in relation to a case of “criminal conspiracy, causing grave hurt, instigating disturbances of the public peace, and culpable homicide”.
“Valid information that will lead to his arrest for questioning and arraignment on criminal charges,” according to the police, is what they are seeking.
The bulletin further advises that anyone with information that can help in his capture should call 08151849417 or present themselves at any nearby police station.
It was remembered that the authorities had taken WikkiTimes publisher Haruna Mohammed and journalist Idris Kamal into custody in May 2022.
In response to an invitation to discuss a report headlined “How Bauchi APC Chairman Died Following Series of Threats,” the pair were detained.
It described how Hussaini Musa Gwaba, the chairman of the APC in Bauch, received numerous threats before he was killed.

The report stated that Hon. Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi, a member representing the Bauchi Federal Constituency, was upset with Gwaba’s election as chairman.
According to reports, Abdullahi saw the deceased as a danger to his political aspirations and teamed up with other resentful members to hold a parallel poll to nominate a chairman.
