Alhaji Muntari Lawal, Chief of Staff to Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari, stated emphatically on Sunday in Katsina that he has no plans to run for any political office in the 2023 elections.
Lawal made the statement in response to posters announcing his intention to run for senator that were plastered throughout the state.
“I have never discussed with anyone the possibility of running for any political office, let alone the position of Senator for Katsina Central.”
“Imagine, even if I am contesting, how can I contest the position that my in-law currently holds?” He is not only my in-law, but also my next-door neighbor.

“Can you see the issue?” So they intend to smack our heads together. That’s not my style. This is an attempt to confuse or mislead us.” It is also a calculated attempt to tarnish my image as well as the image of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“As a result, I am not running for any political office, not even in my own house.” “I am always loyal to my boss, the governor, as well as dedicated to my work.” Just as he stated that he will return to the farm after 2023, I will return to the farm and continue with my life.”
According to Lawal, if such posters were distributed by his supporters, they were not being fair to him because he had not been consulted about such a decision.
“I believe they don’t have good intentions for me, and I believe that as the 2023 elections approach, more of this type of blackmail will emerge.” He stated.
