Man in Jos beheads his wife, chops off his daughter’s hand

In the Plateau State community of Kampala, a man by the name of Chayi beheaded his estranged wife and severed her daughter’s hand on Tuesday.

When the woman, who had divorced her husband over unresolved issues, returned home to pack her belongings, the man allegedly killed her with an axe, cutting off her head and his six-year-old daughter’s hand.

The Kampala community is currently in shock over what the man did to his wife and daughter, according to Sunday Yaks, a local who spoke with newsmen in Jos on Tuesday. The woman’s daughter, who is six years old and whose name is Jessica, is in my acquaintance as Mr. Chayi.

“The man has been having a marital crisis, and the wife eventually left the marriage with their little daughter. But, the woman returned to their house in Kampala with her little daughter to pack her things. We don’t know what happened but the man cut off the wife’s head and the daughter’s hand with an axe.
“When neighbors who had been informed about the situation rushed to their house, it was a terrible sight. The woman passed away while receiving treatment, despite the two victims being taken to the hospital in a hurry. The security guards’ intervention prevented the man from being lynched by a community mob that was outraged.

Speaking on behalf of the State Police Command, Alabo Alfred said that the man had been detained by police officers who had been dispatched to the neighborhood after learning of the heinous incident.

The man is currently in our care. When the investigation into the matter is finished, he will be charged in court, he said.
