Man asks for assistance, wants to know where four missing children are

Chimaobi Agah, a father of four children, has beseeched the Abia State Government and the state police command to intervene on behalf of his four missing children, who have been missing since Monday morning.

Agah, 43, of Amasiri, Ebonyi State, resides in Umuagua Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA, Abia State. He claims that his four children, Godswill Chimaobi, age two, Nmesomachi, age seven, Testimony, age four, and Chinweotiti, age seven, left the house on Monday, November 27 to attend Great Ambassadors College, Nkwoegwu, Umuahia North, but have not been seen since.

He claimed that after his wife got the kids ready for school and hired a tricycle driver in their neighborhood to take them there, he traveled to Enugu State.

He claimed that he and his wife were concerned and began watching out for the four kids when they weren’t home at the end of the day. According to him, they became concerned when the four kids went missing, thinking the tricycle driver who was hired to take them to school had kidnapped them.

Agah claims that his family has been completely destroyed by the occurrence since they have not been able to move past the trauma or lead regular lives.

“She paid a rider on a Keke (tricycle) to transport them to school. When the school was meant to let out in the afternoon, they failed to come home, so my wife went to their school to see if they were there.

The administration of the school informed her that they had never attended at all. Tuesday morning, I went back to Umuahia after receiving a call from my wife. When I visited the school, I heard the same narrative.

“I reported it to the police after that. They provided me with four police officers, and we made an unsuccessful search for them. They requested that I return the next day and give a statement.They then directed me to go make an announcement at a radio station. Despite having completed all of these, I have not yet seen them.

“Please, the public should assist me. Would you kindly pardon my sins? Even though I am a sinner, I think Jesus died on the cross to atone for our sins. I need my four children to be rescued, please,” he cried.

Agha stated he went to the police and that as of Sunday, the kids were still missing. He begged the state administration and the police to help find and rescue the kids because he was bored. Releasing four kids is a difficult task. Allow the police and the government of Abia State to assist us.

He mentioned that on Sunday, the police had requested him to come to their office.

In a statement released on Sunday, ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Abia State Police Command, acknowledged the report. She stated, “On November 28, 2023, at approximately 1530 hours, Mr. Chimaobi Agha and his wife, Mrs. Chimaobi Oluchi, residents of Umuagu (Ibeku, Umuahia North LGA), visited Ohuhu Police Divisional headquarters to report an incident.”

“They report that around 07:30 on Monday, November 27, 2023, Mrs. Chimaobi Oluchi escorted their four children, who are named as follows: Godswill Chimaobi (2 years old, male), Testimony Chimaobi (4 years old, male), and Chinweotiti Chimaobi (7 years old, female).

“Great Ambassadors College, Ukaiuga Nkwoegwu, Ohuhu, in Umuahia North LGA, is the destination of the unknown tricycle that the children’s mother escorted them to at the intersection of her street to board.”

Considering that the oldest is seven years old and the tricyclist is unknown, no one accompanied or escorted them. Sadly, the kids did not get home as expected at the end of the school day.

“An investigation into the missing children’s whereabouts was launched by the police. Additional research has revealed that the kids weren’t at school on the designated day, and efforts are still underway to find the missing kids.

“We ask that anyone who knows anything that could help us find them come right over to the closest police station.”
