Yesterday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, Nyesom Wike, the outgoing governor of Rivers State, and James Ibori, the former governor of Delta.
About four and a half hours earlier, Mr. Herbert Wigwe, the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holding Plc, who had visited the President’s office, had entered the Villa.
The meeting’s agenda was kept a secret. However, in separate interviews with reporters afterward, Makinde and Wike expressed their support for the Federal Government’s decision on fuel subsidies.
“It’s something that the public is currently debating at length,” Makinde said. We are aware that this is a difficult choice for the people, and he needs everyone’s help to carry it out.
Wike stated: “We came to support him (the President).
All of the decisions he is making have our full support. There is nothing improper about it because it demonstrates that he is ready for the job. A nation must make difficult choices in order to advance.
