Makinde Has No Standing to Instruct Us on LG Crisis – APC

According to the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), there is no need for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s guidance about the state’s crisis.

In the state’s ongoing political stalemate, the party requested Makinde to cease calling them the aggressor.
The chaos surrounding Osun’s local government areas has engulfed “roughly 10 persons from the attacks of the PDP hoodlums across the state,” according to the APC.

According to reports, Makinde recommended the state APC to go to court rather than rely on self-help in order to resolve the issue while he was in Osogbo, Osun State, on Sunday to observe his counterpart, Ademola Adeleke, swear in the council chairmen.
However, the APC responded by saying that Makinde was only attempting to appease Adeleke in a statement issued by party spokesperson, Kola Olabisi.

Olabisi stated, “That advice from Governor Makinde was unnecessary because all the evidence that was available showed that the governor of Oyo State was spitting white spittle and internalizing metaphorical blood in order to appease his fellow governor from the same party extraction.”

“If we may question, where was Governor Makinde when his political soulmate in the former State of the Virtuous went to such lengths to attack our members and chieftains using the sacred space of the Osun State Government House?

When the freshly reinstated chairman of our party in Ikire, Hon. Remi Abass, Irewole Local Government Council Area, was shot dead by political thugs of his party, seemingly encouraged by Governor Adeleke’s earlier incitement, where was Governor Makinde?

“Where was Governor Makinde when one person was slain by PDP-aligned thugs in Irojo, Ilesa, Osun State, during the unlawful, chaotic local government council election that his brother allegedly organized on Saturday?

When daredevil thugs linked to his party’s violent thugs nearly killed a party chieftain a few days ago in Ilesa, Mr. Tobi Famurewa and Engr. Remi Omowaiye, a serving Executive Director at the Federal Housing Authority, the party pleaded with Makinde to explain to Nigerians why he lost his voice.

“Governor Makinde is not in a better position to instruct the APC leadership on how to carry out the continuous efforts of our duly elected chairmen and council members in order to benefit from the Court of Appeal judgment, Akure Division, rendered on February 10, 2025,” we would like to make clear to him.
