39 passengers lost their lives in car accidents in Niger, Bauchi, Kebbi

On Monday, a fatal car accident occurred on the Bida-Mokwa Road in the Niger State, claiming the lives of no less than 24 people.

Four people died in an auto accident on Monday, bringing tragedy to the Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
On Bunza/Maidahini Road in the Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State, a car accident claimed the lives of 11 people and injured three others.

Etsu-Woro village in the state’s Lavun Local Government Area is where the accident in Niger State happened at 10:10 p.m.
Approximately 87 passengers were believed to be riding on the luxury bus that was involved in the collision as they made their way from Zaria to Lagos, according to reports.

The incident was confirmed to journalists in Minna yesterday by the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Kumar Tsukwan, who said his men arrived at the scene eight minutes after learning of the accident.

“It was a single accident,” he said, adding that the truck was hauling 84 people and goods. Six women and seven children made up the remaining 74 victims, which included 74 men. Ten people survived without any injuries, compared to 45 who received injuries, including 39 men, three women, and three children.

According to him, the bodies were also taken to the mortuary at the Kutigi hospital while the victims were immediately taken to the general hospital for quick medical attention.

Five additional people suffered serious injuries in the crash in Bauchi State, according to Mr. Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander, FRSC, in that state. In the sole incident, he claimed, there were nine passengers riding in a green commercial Ford Galaxy.

“Nine people, eight of whom were adult males and one adult female, were involved in the crash,” he said. Five people, including four male adults and one female adult, were injured, while four male adults and four male adults lost their lives immediately.

The accident, according to Abdullahi, happened at 10.30 a.m. and was caused by a burst tire and a loss of control. According to him, it only took the corps about 15 minutes to get to the crash site and clear it.

According to the sector commander, the bodies of the deceased and the injured were both transported for confirmation and treatment to the General Hospital, Dass.

He gave drivers the sage advice to always be aware of the laws governing traffic when they are on the road.
