President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has advised women not to give up on securing gender-related legislation.
In the ongoing review of the 1999 Constitution, Lawan spoke in Agasa, Kogi State, on Thursday.
He also advocated for girls’ education shortly before launching a 600-seater JAMB CBT Centre facilitated by Senator Yakubu Oseni of Kogi Central Senatorial District.

“I know some will say the National Assembly rejected gender bills. It’s democracy! Let us keep lobbying.
“We should keep lobbying because no one likes to be undermined. Lawan was quoted as saying this by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi.
There are no unmarried male members of the National Assembly, so every male member is a “He for She”.
‘If you can’t get something, if there is a failure, we should make it a political capital that tomorrow we say, you couldn’t do it yesterday, can you do it today?’ That will help us get over some of these roadblocks.

“Most of us have daughters. “We know that everyone is involved in this struggle, but we must not lose hope,” Lawan said.
