Nigeria’s Lagos State University, which was established in 1983, is a public institution of higher learning that offers three major courses: Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe.
It is the sole state-sponsored institution of higher learning in Lagos State, with over 35,000 students enrolled full time in courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the non-residential university.
The Ojo campus serves as the primary campus and is home to the university’s central administration. Arts, education, law, management sciences, science and social sciences; transportation; communication; environmental studies and sustainable development; general Nigerian studies; planning studies; information and communication technology; and entrepreneurship are just a few of the faculties that make up the University of Lagos.
The Lagos State University Epe campus, which is located on a former military barracks and is completely residential, is even larger than the main campus. The department of engineering, the school of agriculture, and the institute for organic agriculture and the green economy are all located on the grounds of the university. Engineers are organized into four departments: mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, chemical and polymer engineering, and aeronautical engineering. Mechanical engineering is one of the most popular majors at the university.
