Lagos police detain officers seen in viral video brutalising Okada man

In the video that has gone viral, three police officers can be seen abusing a man from Okada who has been identified as Al-Hassan Usman in the Abule Egba neighborhood of Lagos State. This is according to reports.

While one of the officers was seen hitting the man with his baton, another officer was seen pushing him away from them in an aggressive manner multiple times.

The man who tried to wrestle his bike with the policemen suffered a serious injury as he held on to his forehead, where blood could be seen gushing out from. He was seen holding on to his forehead.

While the other two officers fled the scene immediately in a tricycle, the third officer rode away on the bicycle that belonged to the victim.

According to the reports, the incident took place exactly four days ago. The specifics of what led up to the incident, however, have not been determined as of yet.

“I can confirm that they are currently being held in custody. During the webinar, he explained, “I got the video of the Abule Egba incident on my WhatsApp from the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, and when he sends material to me like that, I know what it means.”

He stated that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, had already detained the men without even waiting for any order, claiming that the CP, being a thoroughbred officer, knew what to do in the situation.

“We don’t waste time when our men misbehave,” Adejobi said further.

According to him, the spokesman for the Lagos police department, Benjamin Hundeyin, ought to have made their photos available to the public to confirm that the policemen had been detained. He also stated that he was confident that Hundeyin would do that any moment from now on.
