The Lagos State Government has announced the entrance into CMD Road and the Access Road to Isheri-Olowora on the Shagamu bound carriageway temporarily closed for three days.
The roads would be stopped to allow contractors to “lay the final wearing course,” which will start on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, according to a statement posted on the LASG’s official Instagram page on Tuesday.
“In line with the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway project by the Federal Government, the Lagos State Government has announced the temporary closure of the entrance into CMD Road and the Access Road to Isheri-Olowora on the Shagamu bound carriageway,” the statement’s text reads.
“According to the Government’s notification, the CMD entrance will be closed for three days starting on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 for the laying of the final wearing course, and the Access Road to Isheri-Olowora on the Shagamu bound carriageway, by the pedestrian Bridge at Berger bus stop, will be closed for three days starting on Thursday, August 10, 2023, with preparatory work beginning on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 to enable the reconstruction of the rema
For the length of the construction work, the following traffic control plan has been designated. All expressway traffic traveling to CMD Road will have the following alternate routes starting on Thursday, August 10, 2023:
i. To continue their journeys, drivers on Ojota Interchange will connect to CMD Road through the access road after passing the FMW weighbridge.
ii. CMD road will be accessible to Dr. Nurudeen Olowopopo drivers via Otedola Estate.
iii. Drivers who are headed to Isheri-Olowora and plan to leave the expressway through the exit before the pedestrian bridge at the Berger bus stop should use the next exit at the New Garage to get there.
Drivers are asked to work with the traffic management personnel dispatched to direct them to their destinations.
