The teacher who was accused of mistreating a youth corps member assigned to Government Day Junior Secondary School in Kulende, Ilorin, has been demoted by the Kwara State Government.
Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, the Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development, and Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar, the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, jointly announced in Ilorin that Hajia Fatimoh Hamzat Nike had been downgraded by two grade levels.
The government stated, “Hajia Hamzat Fatimoh Nike was found guilty by the investigative panel established on the matter of fighting while on duty, using profanity, being insubordinate, and showing disrespect for the national identity that the corps member’s uniform represents.”

“She has been demoted by two grade levels because of her behavior, which violates public service rules.”
According to the statement, the instructor would also be moved from her current school and participate in counseling sessions.
The state government stated that under no circumstances will such abuse be accepted.
According to the statement, “the government sincerely regrets the teacher’s action and assures the National Youth Service Corps management that the development does not represent the people of the state and it will not happen again.”
Since the state government would continue to place a high priority on training on teaching ethics and procedures of service, it urged educators in the state to always uphold the law by carrying out their responsibilities in line with the established method.
