Hon. (Arc) Setonji Koshoedo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Deputy National Secretary, congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on the successful installation of Oba Moshood Olalekan Ishola Balogun (Alli Okunmade II) as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday.
Koshoedo also praised the governor for his deft handling of the impasse that arose following the transition of the immediate past Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, in a statement he personally signed (Aje Ogungunniso I).
He reminded Ibadan residents of how the state’s ousted All Progressives Congress (APC) government trampled on the state’s crown-wearing kingship traditions, and thanked Makinde, whom he dubbed “the action governor,” for his quick intervention.
Hon. Koshoedo, as he is affectionately known, praised Makinde, the PDP’s South West leader, for his pragmatic approach to the peaceful resolution of the Ibadan Obaship issue, saying it is a model worthy of emulation by other leaders.
“Governor Makinde’s politics and governance style have clearly endeared him to citizens of Oyo State and beyond,” he writes. His handling of the Olubadan Obaship controversy is particularly commendable.”

“Let me also take this opportunity to congratulate the entire Ibadan community on the emergence of the new Olubadan, Oba Moshood Olalekan Balogun(Alli-Okunmade II).” I wish the new Oba a long and prosperous reign.”
” May God grant Kabiyesi a long and healthy life. Ki bata pe l’ese, k’ade pe lori.
May God continue to give our acting governor the wisdom he needs to successfully steer Oyo state’s affairs,” he prayed.
