Security officials in Kaduna State have reported finding three bodies of civilians slain by a mob in two sites in the state’s Kaura and Jema’a Local Government Areas on Monday.
The remains of one Ibrahim Isiyaku (Danasabe) of No 143, Bauchi Street, Kafanchan, were discovered at Kagoro Roundabout on Wednesday, according to Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.
The bodies of Malam Ibrahim Rilwanu and Malam Lawali Zubairu, both of No.5 Emir Road, Kafanchan, were also discovered in a place known as ‘Binzom’ behind the Kafanchan campus of Kaduna State University (KASU).
This puts the overall number of people who have died as a result of the assaults and the accompanying violence to 37.
On Monday, the Fountain of Life Baptist Church in Kafanchan was assaulted and its glass windows damaged in a related incident.
A bus belonging to the Baptist School of Health Technology in Kafanchan was also assaulted and damaged on Monday. Mr Bamaiyi, the bus driver, was injured with a cutlass and is undergoing treatment at a facility.
Security services have also claimed that hoodlums assaulted and burned down two herders’ villages in Zauru and Kurdan, both in the Zangon Kataf LGA.
Mr Francis Sani Zimbo, Chairman of the Zangon Kataf local government, is conducting an emergency security meeting with traditional and community leaders of Kurdan and Zauru regarding the event as of the time of reporting this report.
Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i expressed his sympathies to the victims’ families and prayed for their souls to rest in peace after hearing the news. He wished the motorist who was hurt a speedy recovery.

The Governor also urged ranchers whose settlements had been set ablaze to follow the law and let the government and security forces handle the situation.
The citizens of Kaura and Jema’a LGAs are reminded to adhere to the 24-hour curfew that is still in effect. As a result, security services will be able to operate more efficiently to avoid such bloodshed.
“Security services are maintaining search patrols in the region. “Any new information will be shared with the public,” Aruwan stated.
