Mrs. Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi (KOL), a youth development advocate, says she wants to be President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in 2023.

It turns out that she is the daughter of Femi Okunnu (SAN), an old man and former Federal Commissioner of Works and Housing.

It is the first time that a woman in the current political circle has said that she wants to run for the country’s top job.

Monday, she told the media in Lagos, Nigeria, that it was time for young people in the country to take charge of the country.

The aspirant said that with a lot of people, young people should help their peers get into high places so that there are more jobs for everyone.

With humility and responsibility, Okunnu-Lamidi says she isn’t in the race for the sake of vanity or frivolity, but because the future of the country rests on her shoulders.

KOL said that young people believe in the promise of an equitable and just political union that brings together the people’s different strengths and taps into untapped resources.

“We should be thanked and rewarded for what we’ve done for Nigeria’s character, stability, peace, and progress.”

“The president’s job is to make Nigeria work for all of its many different people.” Nigeria doesn’t work for us, she said.

Okunnu-Lamidi used the unemployment rate to say that young people, who make up about 70% of the population, are the hardest hit by bad governance.

She said that poor school curricula, bad teacher orientation, a lack of focus on manufacturing, an overreliance on the oil industry, low life expectancy, and high infant mortality rates were some of the things she didn’t like.

Candidates for the presidency say that “a president for all Nigerians must be honest, competent, have a vision for the future of the country in the twenty-first century, have a lot of energy, and care for all of our people, especially the weak and poor.”

That’s what KOL said: Only a good president can get rid of the 40 percent of people who are living below the poverty line and the rising number of kids who aren’t going to school.

As a business management major, Okunnu-Lamidi earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Bolton, RAK Campus in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). She also earned a Master’s of Business Administration in Strategic Project Management from Heriot-Watt University in Dubai.
