‘Key IPOB Figures Neutralized, Sit-at-Home Now Ineffective’ – Ribadu

According to National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, the Monday sit-at-home order has lost its effectiveness as important members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have been apprehended and neutralized.
Ribadu reportedly disclosed this on Thursday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) national conference while giving a presentation on the security accomplishments of the President Bola Tinubu administration.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) secessionist agitations in the south-east, tribal/herder-farmer conflicts in the north-central region, Boko Haram in the northeast, and armed banditry in the northwest are the five major security crises that Ribadu claims Tinubu’s administration inherited.
Security agencies have been able to stop the widespread murders, kidnappings, and destruction committed by criminal elements around the nation by working together, according to the NSA.

With more than 11,000 weapons collected and destroyed, the NSA highlighted the accomplishments, stating that over 13,543 Boko Haram fighters had been neutralized in the previous two years.

124,408 Boko Haram fighters and their families have turned themselves in to the military, he continued, and attacks on security personnel have drastically decreased since Tinubu’s administration began.

“The sit-at-home orders are becoming increasingly ineffective in the southeast, which is a welcome development,” he said.

“Key ESN/IPOB figures were neutralized or captured. Numerous police posts as well as more than 50 police stations have been restored.

“Security forces were attacked much less frequently. Economic and social activity is becoming more regular.

“A decrease in mass abductions and the release of 11,250 hostages in the northwest marked a turning point in the war against banditry.

“Determining strikes to powerful warlords Boderi, Dangote, Isuhu Yellow, Damuna, Halilu Sububu, Ali Kachalla, and others were removed.
