The Director General NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has couseled Corps members to have their records undistorted to avoid unpalatable consequences in future.
He gave the admonishion on Friday at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Sagamu while addressing Corps members deployed to Ogun state for the 2019 Batch “B” (Stream One) service year.
“I urge you to keep your records straight. Put up good conduct and hard work right from the orientation course through to the end of your service. Don’t play truancy and always obtain permission before you travel out of your state of service.
“What you do now can stand for or against you in future. Your general conduct could be used to determine your suitability for an elective or appointive political position in future. So I call on you once again to maintain clean records” he reiterated. He advised the Corps members to adhere strictly to the NYSC Act.
Speaking further, Brigadier General Ibrahim cautioned the Corps members to always be on the watch to be able to detect situations that can trigger crises in their communities of service.
He also drew the Corps members’ attention on the need to enroll and participate fully in the Scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme to become self reliant.
