Dr Kayode Ajulo, the former National Secretary of the Labour Party, has warned that if the All Progressives Congress (APCconsensus )’s structure, which is likely to produce its National Chairman, is challenged in court, it will be found unlawful.
He said that any candidate for the party’s National Chairmanship has the “locus” to dispute the consensus on the grounds that their right to a fair election has been violated, and that the court would listen.
The lawyer claimed in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja that the Electoral Act, as modified, does not provide for a consensus arrangement, and thus it is contrary to law, warning that if the APC goes forward with consensus, it will be deemed null.
