On Monday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will be formally welcomed into the All Progressives Congress by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Kano. The ceremony will take place at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata.
According to reports, the event, which party leaders have characterized as a significant political meeting intended to strengthen the ruling party’s power in the North-West, is also scheduled to include numerous APC governors and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to Abdullahi Abbas, the chairman of the Kano State APC, Yusuf would be formally and symbolically welcomed into the party at the reception.
He called the move a major turning point for the APC in Kano, which is considered to be one of Nigeria’s most important political bastions.
He claims that in order to guarantee a flawless event, a great deal of planning has been finished.
Abbas revealed that a number of committees had been established to oversee the event’s logistics, security, and mobilization.
The Director-General of Special Services will serve as secretary of the 15-member Security Committee, which will be led by Col. Umar Malami.
The responsibility of overseeing stadium amenities has been placed on a 16-member Venue Committee, which is led by Hon. Bala Mohd Gwagwarwa and includes Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as its secretary.
A 15-member Publicity Committee, directed by Hon. Muhammad Garba, would be in charge of media relations and public involvement.
Likewise, medical and emergency services will be coordinated by the Health Emergency and Sanitation Committee, which is headed by Dr. Abubakar Labaran.
Hon. Abdullahi Rogo is the chair of the Protocol Committee, which is in charge of overseeing the reception procedures for the dignitaries who are anticipated at the event.
The party also formed a 20-member Mobilization Committee, led by Hon. Mohd Bello Butu-Butu, to guarantee widespread involvement.
