The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, Monday, inaugurated the new division of the court in Kano, North-West Nigeria.

Kano State has been under the jurisdiction of the Appeal Court in Kaduna.

Justice Bulkachuwa, who is on a valedictory tour of the Appeal Court across the country, also inaugurated new divisions in Delta and Anambra States.

The Kaduna State Court of Appeal division will by this development, cease to have jurisdiction over cases arising from the lower courts in Kano State.

This has been lauded by many Nigerians who see it as a positive development towards speedy and effective administration of justice
