Mr. Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, the Governor of Jigawa State, has raised concern about the rising number of reports of missing children in certain of the state’s local government areas.
Abubakar asked parents in the state to be more vigilant in monitoring their children’s movements.
Mr Habibu Nuhu Kila, the state governor’s spokesman, said in a statement issued yesterday in Dutse that the state governor’s advise was prompted by reports of missing children in certain local government areas of the state.

The governor added that the administration is concerned about the security and well-being of the state’s population and would continue to give the best possible protection.
He asked residents to report any suspicious activity involving unfamiliar people in the neighbourhood to the appropriate security services as soon as possible.
Abubakar emphasized that all relevant government institutions and other stakeholders are working tirelessly to protect the lives and property of Jigawa State residents.
