The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) sets a date for determining the cut-off mark for admission.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set August 31 as the deadline for determining the minimum cut-off mark for tertiary institution admission for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Officials from JAMB, heads of tertiary institutions, the ministry of education, and other key stakeholders will attend the meeting.

The meeting, which will be chaired by Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, will also discuss other admission issues in addition to determining the cut-off mark.

Stakeholders will evaluate the 2020 admissions process, present application statistics, and discuss candidate performance in the recently completed JAMB exams during the meeting.
The meeting would kickstart admission processes into tertiary institutions across the country, according to a release signed by JAMB Head of Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

The meeting will also decide on acceptable minimum admissions standards to be used in all admissions conducted by all Nigerian tertiary institutions, according to the statement.

Last year, the cut-off mark for university admission was 160, while polytechnics had a cut-off of 120, and colleges of education had a cut-off of 100.
