The brutal killings of Suleiman Mohammed’s two wives and five children in the state’s Gassol Local Government Area, who was the traditional leader of Mutum-Biyu, have been denounced by Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku.
The alleged kidnappers brutally murdered the monarch’s family after they were recently kidnapped in the state capital of Jalingo. In a forest, there decomposing remains were discovered.
No one has yet been arrested by the police in relation to the crime.
Through Lois Emmanuel, his Commissioner of Information and Reorientation, the state governor expressed his shock at the incident and referred to it as “barbaric, ungodly, inhuman, and uncivilized.”
Ishaku expressed regret that the recent events were impeding the state government’s ongoing efforts to rid the state of kidnappings and other types of banditry in a press release given to newsmen on Saturday in Jalingo.
