The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr Valentine Ozigbo as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the Anambra governorship election on November 6.
INEC stated that it made the decision in response to a court order.
Mr Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, announced this in an Abuja statement on Thursday.
INEC met on Thursday, according to Okoye, and discussed a number of issues related to the governorship election, including the most recent court order.

“The Commission has been ordered by the Court of Appeal to recognize and publish the name of Ozigbo as the governorship candidate,” he said.
He pointed out that the PDP had previously substituted its deputy governorship candidate within the legal deadline.
According to Okoye, Ozigbo is the governorship candidate, while Lilian Enemo is the deputy governor.
According to the timetable and schedule of activities for the election, the final list of candidates will be published on Oct. 7.
