In Ogun Man Allegedly Rapes Wife’s 11-Yr-Old Cousin For Three Years, Begs Forgiveness

Shittu, who lives on Hallelujah Street in the Ifo area of Ogun State, was apprehended by police after his wife complained to the Ifo division that Shittu had been forcing the minor to sleep with her for the past three years.

“Her cousin, who lives with them informed her that her husband, Idowu Shittu, has been forcibly having sex with her for the past three years, and when she can no longer bear it,” Abimbola Oyeyemi, an image maker for the Ogun State police, said.

According to Oyeyemi, the woman’s cousin, whose mother died when she was a toddler, told her that she had been enduring the sexual molestation because she had nowhere else to go if the suspect sent her out, adding that “he used to threaten whenever he wants to have his way with her.”

After being briefed on the case, the DPO of Ifo division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, dispatched his detectives to the scene where the suspect was apprehended, according to reports.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime but begged the little girl’s forgiveness,” Oyeyemi said on Sunday, adding that the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the suspect’s immediate transfer to the State CIID for further investigation and prosecution.
