Sixteen young men, all between the ages of 40 and 15, were paraded in front of media at the Katsina Police Command on Monday for allegedly vandalizing government property around the ongoing underpass (flyover) construction in Katsina State Capital.
On behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP. Sanusi Buba, the Superintendent of Police, SP. Isah Gambo, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, paraded the 16 suspects before journalists at the command’s headquarters on Tuesday.

Cable wires, shovels, and diggers are among the goods recovered from them.
However, when probed, many of them rejected the charge, claiming that they were only passing by when they were stopped.
“When I was detained, I was on my way to buy “suya meat” in the area. One of them stated, “I did not tamper with any of the goods as claimed.”
The following are among the 16 suspects currently being sought by the Katsina Police Department:
I am 40 years old. Aliyu Danlami is a 22-year-old woman. Abubakar Lawal, 21, and Abubakar Dahiru, 20, are both 21 years old. Buhari Lawal is a 20-year-old Nigerian politician. 19-year-old Aminu Tasi’u 16-year-old Abba Lawal Mohammed Lawal is a 20-year-old man. Salisu Ibrahim is a 21-year-old woman. 18-year-old Abubakar Bashar 18-year-old Sulaiman Isah 21-year-old Awwal Abubakar 15-year-old Bilyaminu Ibrahim Haruna Saleh, Abdullahi Lawal, 20 years old, and Da’ud Isah.
“Based on solid intelligence, the command succeeded in arresting sixteen (16) alleged vandals of Government property in Katsina Metropolis,” SP. Isah remarked as he paraded the suspects.

“Suspects were apprehended vandalizing government installations in the Kofar Kaura region, at the newly approved site for the construction of the underpass, which will cost millions of naira.”
“They were found with two (2) shovels, one (1) digger, and a large quantity of cable cables after a quick search. The investigation is still going on.”
