On Saturday afternoon, a 17-year-old boy named Muhammad Muktar-Tijjani drowned in an open water at Semegu Sabon Titi in Kano, according to the Kano State Fire Service.
In a statement issued in Kano, the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, said the boy drowned when he fell into open water.
“On Saturday around 2:25 p.m., we received a distress call from one Muhammad Bello.

“At about 02:37 p.m., we sent our rescue team to the scene after receiving the information,” he said.
Muktar-Tijjani, on the other hand, was brought out of the water lifeless, according to Abdullahi.
He went on to say that the body had been handed over to Muhammad Ibrahim, the Ward Head of Kankarofi. (NAN)
