Alhassan Aminu, the Commissioner of Police of Cross River State, has decried the lack of trucks, speed boats, and other supplies to combat the state’s rising crime rate.
He made the remarks during a broadcast on Calabar’s Sparkling FM radio station.
Aminu stated that fighting crime with empty hands was tough for his command.
“In the Cross River police command, we have major logistical issues.

“Taking gunboats or speedboats into the creeks, for example, may not always go as planned.
“In the meantime, we just have a few of them.” You may occasionally need to use smaller ones and are unable to do so with your own hands.
“We like to completely mobilize our personnel in order to march confidently into crime scenes and conquer them.”
“We don’t want to send them just so we can bag their bodies,” he explained.
The CP demanded that his Command be properly kitted out and equipped in order to maintain the current pace, noting that since his arrival, the command had been able to flush out a large number of criminal elements.
